A lone leaf falls

paulownia the pure air of autumn.
The paulownia (kiri) is a tree of large purple flowers, belonging to the family of Scrophulariaceae. The "solitary paulownia leaf" appears in ancient Chinese poetry as self-image of the early fall. Even without the help of the wind, large paulownia leaves fall one by one, a view that suggests the beginning of autumn and the proximity of death.
